Play Therapy
Children express and process thoughts and emotions most naturally through play. Play Therapy is a treatment approach that utilizes theoretical models of play to help your child achieve optimal growth, development and milestones. During play therapy we may use puppets, sand tray therapy, board games, story telling and/or free play to help discover your child's strengths and areas where they may need assistance.

Art Therapy
Utilizing the creative process to facilitate communication and relationships, art therapy is a natural choice for working with children. During therapy we may use creativity and art to engage children in both brain and body. Art therapy is a natural choice for children facing sensory challenges as well as helping children navigate trauma or other challenges that are difficult to put into words.
Grief and loss

It is vital for children to be able to process the loss of a loved one. Often when children haven't had a chance to explore or talk about their feelings on loss, behaviors arise. All behavior is communicative and children need safe avenues to help them understand their own individual journey will loss. Therapy that utilizes play and art will help your child understand the loss and work through their own feelings. Legacy building and saying goodbye will be explored through the creative and play therapy process.
Navigating medical experiences

Does your child express fear or anxiety when going to a doctor appointment, getting a flu vaccine, or visiting the dentist? These anxieties are natural and positive coping techniques can be explored in therapy to help your child feel more confident during any medical experience. As a Certified Child Life Specialist, my particular area of expertise is helping children navigate potentially traumatic, frightening experiences and transitions.
